Our first job is to make the roof safe and stop more water getting in. That might mean temporary sheeting, replacing lost tiles, or securing loose materials. Once the roof is safe and the weather allows, we carry out the permanent repair. Because Travis is local to Glastonbury, emergency calls in Street, Wells, Somerton and the other towns we cover can be reached quickly. You speak directly to the roofer who will come out, not a call centre. The risk of waiting ## Why emergency roof damage must be dealt with fast Every hour water gets in, the bill for the inside of your home grows. ### Ceiling damage Water pooling above plasterboard can bring a ceiling down. ### Electrical risk Water near light fittings and wiring is a safety hazard. ### More tiles lost Once wind gets under the roof covering, more tiles can follow. ### Contents ruined Furniture, carpets and belongings below the leak are at risk. ### Insurance complications Insurers expect homeowners to take reasonable steps to prevent further damage. ### Common mistakes homeowners make - Climbing onto a wet or damaged roof yourself. - Waiting until after the weekend while water keeps coming in. - Accepting a temporary patch as the permanent fix. Warning signs ## Signs you need emergency roof repairs - Water dripping through a ceiling or light fitting - Tiles, slates or ridge pieces blown off in a storm - A tree branch or debris lying on the roof - A chimney pot or bricks dislodged - Flat roof felt torn or lifted by wind - Sudden large damp patches after heavy rain Pricing ## What affects the price We don't publish prices because every roof is different. After a free inspection you get one fixed price. These are the things that shape it. ### Make-safe work Temporary sheeting or quick tile replacement to stop water getting in straight away. ### Extent of damage The permanent repair is priced once the full damage can be seen safely. ### Access Emergency access depends on the property and the conditions on the day. ### Timing We'll explain any costs clearly when you call, before we attend. In detail ## Common roof emergencies we deal with Storms sweeping across the Somerset Levels and Mendips cause predictable types of roof damage. “Very happy with the work completed by Travis, kept me informed with everything and kept everything tidy.”Checkatrade customer · BA6 · Checkatrade ### Storm-blown tiles and slates High winds lift tiles at verges, ridges and eaves first. We replace lost tiles, secure loose ones and check the felt underneath for tears. ### Ridge and verge failure Old mortar-bedded ridges and verges can come away in storms. We re-secure them and can recommend dry-fix systems to prevent a repeat. ### Sudden leaks A leak during heavy rain may come from a failed valley, flashing, slipped tile or blocked gutter. We trace the source and stop the water. ### Chimney damage Loose pots, cracked flaunching or a damaged stack can be dangerous after a storm. We make the chimney safe and plan the permanent repair. ### Flat roof failures Split felt and lifted edges on flat roofs cause fast leaks into extensions and garages. We seal and protect them, then advise on repair or replacement. Why homeowners choose Travis ## Why choose TB Roofing and Property Maintenance for emergency roof repairs ### You deal with the roofer, not a salesman When you call about emergency roof repairs, you speak to Travis. He inspects the roof, prices the work and carries it out himself, bringing in trusted labourers only on larger jobs. There's no handover between a surveyor, an office and a crew, so nothing gets lost along the way. ### Evidence before every decision You see photos of the problem before you're asked to spend anything. If extra work turns up once the job starts, you're shown the evidence and the options before anything changes. One customer put it simply: he kept them informed of any extra work needed, with evidence. ### A fixed price, not a day rate Every emergency roof repairs job is quoted at a fixed price after a free inspection. You know the full cost up front, and it doesn't creep up if the job takes longer than expected. Travis prefers not to publish prices online, because guessing without seeing the roof helps nobody. ### Reviewed, insured and accountable TB Roofing and Property Maintenance is a Checkatrade member rated 9.96/10 by verified customers, with £1 million public liability insurance.
